Gianluca Di Loro

Sales Area Manager - Ontario

Gianluca was born in Palermo, Sicily, and grew up on the island.
After studying agricultural sciences in Palermo, he found the island a bit too small for his desire to explore the world. This led him to pursue a career in winemaking, studying in Lisbon, Asti, and Reims in France.
In 2017, Gianluca was awarded the title of Best Wine Taster in Italy in a competition organized by ONAV (Organizzazione Nazionale Assaggiatori di Vino).
Driven by his passion for exploration, Gianluca has spent the past decade crafting wines across Italy, Napa Valley, Margaret River, British Columbia, and Ontario, while also working as a sommelier in his spare time out of pure passion.
After several years in the tranquil Niagara region, Gianluca decided to shake things up by relocating to Toronto with the goal of expanding his network and adding sales expertise to his skill set. Over the past three years, he has served as Sales Manager for Lifford Wines and Mark Anthony Group.
Since 2023, Gianluca has also been a member of the VQA Tasting Panel, the wine appellation authority responsible for determining whether wines meet the standards required for appellation status.
Additionally, he serves as Technical Director for ONAV Canada.
