Translucent ruby red color and a dense texture. The bouquet is intense, characterful and offers a blend of ripe black berries with maturation in wooden barrels. Ripe plum, black cherry, blueberry, and blackberry connect with light hints of butter, vanilla, and sweet spices. Scents of licorice, wood, pepper, forest undergrowth and cedar follow, and in the finish, we also find a slight hint of chocolate. The tannins have a velvety effect drying the palate quickly.
